In April 2017, Beijing time, in order to enhance employees’ job competencies and professional skills, foster their personal development, and improve and refine their knowledge, skills, work methods, work attitudes, and professional values—thereby unlocking their full potential to boost performance, drive continuous progress for both the company and individuals, and achieve dual growth for the organization and its employees—the company arranged for Technical Engineer Allan to attend a two-week technical training program in the United States at the invitation of Groth (USA).

Founded in 1960 in Houston, Texas, Grus Corporation originated as Grus Equipment Company. Today, Grus is a leading manufacturer of pressure/vacuum relief valves, flame/arson arrestors, pilot-operated relief valves, and other low-pressure relief devices.

Grus Corporation’s pressure-relief devices have more than 50 years of specialized expertise in refining, chemical processing, atmospheric equipment, and tank protection. Pressure/vacuum relief valves, pressure relief valves, vacuum relief valves, and other pressure-relief devices are critical emission-control equipment. These relief valves safeguard process equipment against overpressure or excessive vacuum and help minimize product evaporation losses. They represent a vital step in protecting the atmospheric environment from harmful volatile organic compounds. Flame arrestors and explosion vents, in turn, effectively reduce fire risk.

On April 3 and 4, U.S. local time, a training and exchange session was held at Groth’s facility in Stafford, Texas. The factory’s training manager led participants in getting to know staff from various departments and gaining an understanding of their day-to-day operations and management. The training program included presentations by the technical and marketing departments on product knowledge and applications; analysis of market demand and competitive dynamics; and a tour of the production workshop to learn about product manufacturing and testing processes. Throughout the session, agents from around the world actively consulted with the factory about challenges they had encountered in their projects and shared project experiences with one another.

From April 5 to 10, U.S. local time, a visit and exchange program was held at the CDC facility in Liberty, Kansas City. As with Groth, after participants introduced themselves to one another, the training commenced, with a team of rupture disc experts delivering product presentations, highlighting our product features, and providing thorough, patient answers to agents’ questions. The program also included multiple factory tours, allowing participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the design and manufacturing processes for rupture discs, as well as to witness a series of rupture disc burst tests conducted in the plant’s ASME-certified laboratory. Following the training, a timed knowledge competition was held, with winners receiving gifts from the factory—providing both a valuable opportunity to review the material and a fun, competitive element. Allan was awarded third place in the competition and shared his thoughts on the experience and what he had learned.
